Costa del Sol Weather charts
Naturally when planning a holiday everyone's thoughts change to the weather and what it is likely to be at various times of the year. Well it fair to say that Spain is well known for its excellent all year round sunshine but no doubt you want more specific information.
The Spanish Costa del Sol has long been known to have the best climate in Europe with 320 days of sun a year with fewer than 50 days of rain.
East of Marbella has an added advantage over the rest of the Costa del Sol because the area has a unique microclimate, which results in an even more temperate climate than the rest of the Costa del Sol. This is caused by a mountain chain surrounding and protecting the Marbella area. (Any rain or winds from the Atlantic Ocean are pushed further up the coast to the Costa Blanca area.)
You will have sunbathing weather almost every day from June to September. There is virtually no rain during these months. Daily highs reach about 35º C (95º F) and nightly lows 15º C (59º F). Shirt sleeve weather is generally the case, even in the evening.
Autumn, Spring and even Winter months are generally sunny and temperatures are on average very pleasant but you may need a jumper for the evenings as the temperature drops. (Please see the chart below for more specific yearly averages.)
The chart below gives an indication of the average yearly temperature and rainfall statistics for the local area.
